GAEA is a research-oriented software tool developed by the Fachgebiet Bauphysik & Solarenergie, Universität Siegen, to support quantitative analysis in building physics and solar energy. It enables researchers, engineers, and students to investigate thermal behavior, assess solar exposure and shading, and compare energy-performance scenarios at component, building, and district scales. With a structured workflow for setting up models, running parameter studies, and reviewing results, GAEA is used for façade and envelope evaluations, solar potential assessments, and decision support for energy-efficient design and retrofits. Developed and maintained within the group’s academic research program, it serves both research and teaching needs.
